We are super excited to announce that Bruce Hunter, KG6OJI, will be joining us this Friday to talk about the Voice of America's Greenville Transmission and Training Center during the last years of the Cold War. This is going to be a presentation using a 35mm film projector, definitely the one not to miss! |
Prior to joining Voice of America, Bruce spent twenty-three years working for KSFO, when it was owned by Gene Autry's Golden West Broadcasters. During World-War-Two the station's previous owners ran studios and high-frequency transmitters for the Office of War Operations, via KWID and KWIX, as part of a service that eventually became Voice of America. Several co-workers and friends of Bruce worked on this wartime service. So later when VOA invited Bruce to join the staff at Greenville, he knew who they were!
