The San Francisco Radio Club has been invited to manage the Communications Team for the inaugural 2017 Virgin Sport Twin Peaks Mile and SF Bay Half 2017 events. We will appreciate your assistance for each of this these events
​We appreciate and thank you for your previous participation as a member of the San Francisco Radio Club Communications Team, whether that event was the San Francisco Marathon, Walk MS, the UMDF Energy for Life Walkathon, or Brain Tumor Walk. Your generosity and skill are valued contributions towards the success of these events, and are noted and appreciated by the event organizers and medical personnel, whom we partner with each year.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:
Aid/Water Station (3 locations) - Communicator for Medical Team Personnel:
  1.      relaying event participant details to Net Control for aid guidance;
  2.      requesting event participant transport; and
  3.      requesting supply replenishment
Net Control (3 net control)
  1.      Net Control Operator (one)
  2.      Scribe (one)
  3.      Relief (one)
We are presently working to finalize details of the event with the event producer, and expect confirmation of these details within the next few weeks. Once these details are finalized we will make station assignments, and provide communications on these and additional details for the event. The 2017 course and Aid/Water Station locations are near identical to 2016. While we are receiving strong interest from licensed amateur radio operators, we welcome additional volunteers. We will appreciate your sharing the call for volunteers through your network(s).

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:
Aid/Water Station (9 locations) - Communicator for Medical Team Personnel:
  1.      relaying event participant details to Net Control for aid guidance;
  2.      requesting event participant transport; and
  3.      requesting supply replenishment
SAG Vehicle (3 vehicles) - Communicator and Navigator for Driver
  1.      maintain communications with Net Control, accepting and confirming dispatch requests, and updating on status and location; and
  2.      aid driver in efficient navigation to and between destinations
Net Control (3 net control)
  1.      Net Control Operator (one)
  2.      Scribe (one)
  3.      Relief (one)
Shadow (1 event sweep)
     Event sweep (one)
  1. follows final runners on entire event course, for duration of event, providing status updates to net control
  2. must provide own motorcycle or bicycle
     Event Management (two)
  1. accompanies event management for duration of event
  2. provides constant communications channel between event management and net control
