WOW! What a great Field Day. If you missed it, well, there’s always next year. We had great participation, some set-up challenges, a lot of new faces and, of course friendship and good fun. With support from the V.A. we got the tent up and generator online and jumped into the madness of Field Day ops. What struck me as special were the visitors throughout the event! A number of folks dropped by after hearing about our FD effort including Cub Scout Troop 188 and their parents.
Several scouts enthusiastically jumped onto the air via our G.O.T.A. (Get On The Air) station. Once the nerves passed it got easier, especially for Cub Scout Kenneth who not only spent a good amount of time at the mic, but, had to go home only to return with a sleeping bag and spent the night. Real “trooper”, right? In all, despite, poor band conditions, Kenneth made 32 contacts witch gave SFRC 6,400 Points! Great job Kenneth.
