Join us, virtually over Google Meet, this coming Friday, May 15th, at 7pm PST for our May General meeting. It will be a great opportunity to connect and to give you an update on the club's business. Our featured presentation will be by Kent, AJ6NI. Kent will give us an overview of Maritime Radio in the San Francisco area. Topics include local history, MF/HF/VHF channel explanations, navigation, and how radios are used by Mariners and the Coast Guard. Did you know that your radio is capable of receiving Maritime communications? Since our meeting is virtual, it is an opportunity for members and friends of the club who could not previously attend our in-person meetings, to join! To join by computer on that night click on this link here: Google Meet or if you wish to join by phone: +1 862-248-5095 PIN: 388 734 311# |
On March 17th, the Health Officer of the City and County of San Francisco and 6 other counties (Santa Clara, San Mateo, Marin, Contra Costa, Alameda and Santa Cruz) issued a Shelter in Place Order, directing residents to stay at home except for essential services and business, to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The San Francisco Radio Club was one of the first in the country to initiate a Welfare Check NET to engage our local community to check on each other. The response was unbelievable! To date we have had more than 110 unique hams checked in!
Since we are planning to continue running the Welfare NET until May 31st, I wanted to remind everyone the dates and times: Monday's 8pm, Wednesday's 8pm and Saturday's 8:30am on our VHF, W6PW repeater (145.150MHz DCS 664). You are invited to check in on all NETs regularly. Please click below or visit www.sfarc.org to enter your information and register to be on the check-in roll. If you are on the roll and we don't hear you during each NET we will SMS you or call you and check on you. |
