This Friday at 7pm, we are back to our original 2025 location at the Randall Museum. We will be given a presentation by Michelle Thompson, CEO and co-founder, of Open Research Institute. She leads many of ORI's technical development and regulatory advocacy efforts. Michelle holds an amateur radio Extra Class license and has authored numerous technical papers on digital radio. Based in San Diego, she combines hands-on RF engineering with strategic vision to advance open source amateur radio technology for both terrestrial and space applications.
From Michelle: "Open Research Institute is a non-profit all-volunteer research institute advancing amateur radio through open source digital communications. We develop broadband protocols for space and terrestrial use, advocate for spectrum rights, and provide remote lab access to experimenters worldwide. All work is published to the general public for free because we believe that the future of radio should be built by and for the community. We are so very pleased to be able to present an overview of our work to the San Francisco Radio Club."
