Vice President's Message
June was a great month for amateur radio in San Francisco. We had wonderful weather for ARRL field day, and had a great showing for the club, making over 100 contacts across six stations! Several people made their first HF contacts, which is always my favorite part. Thanks to Harry WD9DSL, and Jeff KK6JJZ for producing such a spectacular event.
Thanks to all of you who have been activating W6S for the World Soccer Tournament. I hear that there have been over 100k contacts made across all the stations, and many operators have earned certificates for contacting every city.
I'm personally excited to announce that we have secured a meeting room at the Randall Museum on August 22nd for the Tape Measure Antenna Building and Fox Hunt Event. Please keep an eye out in the coming weeks for additional details on how to sign up!

July Club Meeting
Join us this Friday, July 17th from 7 to 9 PM for a presentation about Public Service Events by Oliver Lu, KM6BON.
Amateur radio plays a critical role in supporting events in the Bay Area. Our July Speaker, Oliver Lu has experience keeping events running smoothly through wet, chaotic race-day conditions. Oliver has helped carry forward amateur radio’s public service tradition, stepping into an organizer role and mentoring the next wave of hams who show up wanting to do more than just check into a net.
Join us as Oliver shares what it actually takes to run public service events from the inside: recruiting and training volunteers, coordinating with event organizers, troubleshooting comms on the fly, and why this kind of hands-on service is one of the best ways to grow as an operator — and as a club.
