The 2025 Leadership Team

Picture

Bruce Wolfe, MSW
N6BMW

President

Contact
With decades experience in tech, non-/for-profit business, social work and legislative talents, Bruce brings a modicum of skills. He's a lifelong T'ai Chi practitioner & teacher, drives electric, and a lover of nature and animals (dabbling in various forms of dog training). Having enjoyed the radio waves since his teens Bruce has returned to the hobby again with a renewed interest in emergency & disaster communications.
Picture

Jeff Curry
KK6JJZ

Vice President

Contact
Jeff is a finance professor and author of numerous books on international business. As a lifetime member of SFRC, his interests include portable HF QRP and em-comms as well as antenna design and construction. He is active in several radio groups in the US and Europe.
Picture

Rick Ellis
K6TOR
Treasurer

Contact
Rick earned his license in 1968 and built several Heathkit HF rigs near Chicago.  He re-licensed in 2020 to join ACS for emergencies in San Francisco.  Rick loves low-power cw HF operation for Summits-on-the-Air (SOTA) and Parks-on-the-Air (POTA) while backpacking in the mountains. After a management career in the scientific, semiconductor and financial industries, he enjoys playing contemporary and classical guitar and the great game of golf.

Picture

Kent Carter
KT6R

Secretary & PIO

Contact
Kent was licensed in 2017 after attending a Scouts on the Air event with his son. Since then, he has built his own HF antenna for his Sunset District home, been active on FT8, and put together a mobile SSB HF rig. Being an avid sailor, he has brought his avocations together by being a founder of Boats on the Air, a program where boats are activated with a ham radio station.
Picture

Kaitlyn Handelman
KN6MAN

Director

Kaitlyn began her ham radio journey a few years ago as a way to learn about radio technology. She has since fully embraced the hobby. Her primary focus of radio technology involves ground-to-space communications and reverse engineering protocols.
Picture

Albert Goto
N6SX
Director

As children, Albert and his sister soldered away helping their dad assemble various Heathkit radios, but it would take a research project decades later to bring Albert back to the hobby. Now, Albert enjoys helping the EECS amateur radio classes at UC Berkeley and running their weekly net and exams. Albert is a member of ACS, assists with NERT's NCT classes, and is relentlessly badgering people to get their license or an upgrade.

Picture

Harry Stern, Esq.
WD9DSL
Director

Harry’s fascination with all things radio-related started at an early age. He was first licensed in the mid-1970s, earning his general class at thirteen. Harry also spent seven years as a first responder during which time he was “on the air” every shift. These days Harry particularly enjoys HF including firing up his vintage tube Tempo One.

Dr. Antonis Papatsaras

W6PW Trustee

Antonis is a Computer Scientist at heart and loves to tinker with hardware and software. There isn't a day where he isn't involved in 2-3 tech projects at the same time! He is also the ARRL San Francisco Section Manger.

James Downs
